The New Sudan Council of Churches (NSCC) has played a vital role in healing war-torn communities in the Nuba Mountains and beyond. For families that have endured displacement, loss, and violence, the council has offered a source of comfort and renewal. Its programs focus not only on material support such as food, education, and shelter but also on emotional and spiritual healing, recognizing that recovery must touch both body and soul.

Trauma healing is at the heart of this mission. The NSCC provides safe spaces where survivors can share their stories, release pain, and begin the process of reconciliation. By equipping local leaders with skills in counseling and peacebuilding, the council ensures that communities have the tools they need to continue healing from within. This work helps transform pain into resilience, restoring dignity to those who have suffered the most.

Through prayer, collaboration, and faithful service, we work hand in hand with churches, organizations, and individuals who share the vision of transforming lives through the power of Scripture.

The Chairperson of the New Sudan Council of Churches (NSCC), Rev. Barnaba Ibrahim, accompanied by John, one of the Samaritan’s Purse leaders, visited places in the Nuba Mountains, i.e., Western Jebel, Western Kadugeli, Thobo, Umdoren, Heiban, and Kawalib. The aim of the visit was to initiate the strategic planning for the people of the Nuba Mountains in terms of Strength, witnesses and opportunities.

The New Sudan Council of Churches (NSCC), under the leadership of His Lordship Rt. Rev. Bishop Elsir Hassan, including some NSCC officials and the Inter-churches Committee (ICC) in Juba, who played a vital role, officially launched and opened the office at the South Sudan Council of Churches (SSCC) premises in the presence of a number of partners who attended the launching. It was a great event since it marked the beginning of the new chapter for the New Sudan Council of Churches (NSCC). The New Sudan Council of Churches (NSCC) conveys its gratitude to the South Sudan Council of Churches (SSCC) for their endless support, all the partners in their various roles that they played and that are yet to be played, people who attended the launching, and all the members of the NSCC in their different capacities. New Sudan Council of Churches (NSCC) ACHIEVEMENTS.

1.      Structure of NSCC: General Assembly, Board of Trustees, the Chairperson, and the General Secretary.

2.      Structure of Inter-committee Churches (ICC) in the Nuba Mountains: Delami County, Heiban County, Umdorin County, and Thobo County. Refugee camps: Yida, Pamir, and Ajuang Thok in South Sudan and in Blue Nile.

3.      Appointment of NSCC coordinators: South Sudan-Juba, Yida, Ajuang Thok, Pamir, and Blue Nile.

4.      Appointment of finance department – Juba

5.      NSCC has a well-formulated constitution.

6. NSCC is in a good relationship with South Sudan. NSCC is legally executing and carrying out its activities in South Sudan.

SRRA

The New Sudan Council of Churches (NSCC), in partnership with the Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Agency (SRRA), is organizing a united Gospel crusade in the Nuba Mountains. This historic event brings together all church denominations to worship, pray, and proclaim the hope of Christ. Together, with SRRA as the local partner, we seek healing, reconciliation, and peace for our communities, standing as one family in Jesus for the renewal of Nuba.

SOUTH SUDAN COUNCIL OF CHURCHES (SSCC)

The South Sudan Council of Churches (SSCC) is an ecumenical body focused on peace-building, reconciliation, and advocacy among its member churches in South Sudan. The SSCC is comprised of ten member churches and associate churches, working collaboratively to promote peace and unity within South Sudan. Established following the country's independence in 2011, the council aims to enhance ecumenical cooperation and collective action for peace.

Answering The Call (ATC)

Answering The Call Organization is a Christian charitable organization established in 2015 in the Nuba Mountains with the aim of responding to the plight of the marginalized people in war areas and in disadvantaged backgrounds. It builds on the call of Jesus Christ for us to become his disciples among all nations of the earth. It is within these auspices that the organization's core mission is making discipleship and bringing the Good News to the people.

While doing so, it also reaches out to the physical needs of these vulnerable people. It rehabilitates and prepares these people to become reliable and depend on themselves in the future.

The organization focuses on empowering women and supporting the needy children, victims of war, pastoral and civil leadership, and the youth. Its primary areas of operation are the Nuba Mountains, Darfur, Blue Nile, and South Sudan.

These are the regions that have been affected by recurrent wars in Sudan. Consequently, a huge number of the populations in those areas have been affected adversely. 

National Christian Development Organization (NCDO)

National Christian Development Organization (NCDO) established and registered in 2011 in South Sudan, while having originally registered and functioning mission in Sudan as of 2005 year. National Christian Development Organization (NCDO) is Christian humanitarian, development and advocacy organization, dedicated to working with crisis affected civilians.
Our sole mission is to reduce human sufferings. We respond to natural disasters, humanitarian emergencies and chronic poverty. We are non-political.
The National Christian Development Organization has a range of signed Memorandums of Understandings for collaboration and strategic partnership with the South Sudanese Governmental institutions.

Norwegian Church Aid (NCA)

Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is an independent humanitarian and diaconal organisation mandated by churches in Norway to fight for a more just world together with our partners around the globe. Our mandate is to save lives, build resilience, and seek justice to uphold human dignity and protect the integrity of Creation. We provide humanitarian assistance and protection in disasters, work for sustainable development in local communities, promote peace and reconciliation, and address the root causes of poverty, advocating for the fulfilment of human rights and just decisions by public authorities, businesses, and religious leaders. NCA provides support to the most vulnerable and those in need, regardless of their ethnicity, creed, political or religious affiliation. NCA prioritises working in long-term partnerships with local actors and organisations to enhance ownership and sustainability. As an organisation certified against the Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability, NCA places accountability to the people and communities we serve at the centre of our work. Committed to international ecumenical cooperation and development effectiveness, NCA is affiliated with the World Council of Churches and is a member of the ACT Alliance. The ACT Alliance is a coalition of churches and affiliated organisations working together in over 140 countries to create positive and sustainable change in the lives of poor and marginalised people. 

NCA has worked in Sudan since 1972, beginning with a multisectoral program in Eastern Equatoria, now part of South Sudan. We strengthen communities through partnerships with civil society actors, playing a key role in both humanitarian and development efforts. Today, we are active in five states, with key results in gender-based violence prevention, climate-resilient WASH, peacebuilding, and economic development and food security.
